Guide to Finding your Perfect Luxury Wedding Planner!

When it comes to planning your wedding, it should be nothing but perfect, no details should be overlooked. Sourcing suppliers, venues, deciding on which wedding planner is right for you – they are not easy decisions to make. Which is why I wanted to share some of my knowledge with you in the hope to making those first steps just that little bit easier!

In order to create your dream day and wedding planning experience, it’s essential that you find someone who can really understand your vision, someone who you feel comfortable with, who you can trust, someone that aligns perfectly with your expectations but most importantly someone you can work happily alongside.

The first thing you need to remember is that the purpose of hiring a wedding planner is to make the whole experience as stress free and enjoyable as possible for you. The first step to finding the ‘perfect planner’ is to research. Note, before you start your search, I highly recommend sitting down with your partner and deciding on what style wedding you want. Look through the planners portfolio and see if there design style fits your vision. If you cannot find all of the information you need, don’t be afraid to call and ask. This is a good way to see first hand how their customer service is and how helpful/ accommodating they are.


Once you have researched the planners in your area, considered and accessed their portfolios/client reviews. Make yourself a shortlist. 


Once you have your shortlist, it’s time to reach out to each of your potential wedding planners. I’d suggest arranging coffee. It’s important to remember that you will be working closely with the planner you choose, trusting them with the single most important day of your life – so it’s important that you feel completely comfortable around them. They should give you good energy and confidence.

If you do not have much free time then setting up a phone call initially is a great way to introduce yourself and will also give you a sense of feeling for the planner. When clients send me enquiries, I always respond with a phone call out of courtesy, it is in my opinion a much more personable and professional approach than responding with an email… and well I do love a good chit chat!


Don’t be afraid to mention your budget early on in the process. It’s important to consider your budget for wedding planning, as well as your budget for the big day. If budgeting is not your strong suit a luxury planner can use their experience and expertise to help you manage allocations. This is something I have done for many of my clients.

It’s best to bite the bullet and speak about your budget early on, to be upfront about what you can spend from the start if the wedding planner is going to work for you. In speaking about this early on, it will help you determine whether the wedding planner you are considering is right for you. For example, luxury wedding planners tend to be more experienced managing/working with sizeable budgets, so if you do have a large budget this is something you might want to take into consideration when you are choosing your planner


Lastly, you need to consider how much involvement you would like to have when it comes to planning your wedding day. Do you want someone that will completely take charge of everything for you, or do you want someone that you can bounce ideas off, but leave the smaller details to them, to make the whole process straightforward? It’s important you are clear about what you require as each wedding planner offers different services/packages.My services are tailored to the needs of the client, depending on the level of assistance they desire.
